Naina Subberwal Batra, Rachael McLennan, and Samuel Richards bring with them a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to philanthropy, making them invaluable assets to the Foundation’s mission of supporting innovative initiatives and fostering leadership in Australia.

Naina Subberwal Batra joins the Menzies Foundation with an impressive background in the field of venture philanthropy. Currently serving as the Director of Asian Venture Philanthropy Network Limited and Secretary of Resilient Cities Network, Naina has demonstrated her dedication to creating positive social impact. Previously, she held the positions of Director and chairperson at the International Venture Philanthropy Centre, further solidifying her expertise in the philanthropic sector. Naina’s extensive knowledge and strategic acumen will undoubtedly contribute to the Menzies Foundation’s endeavours. She holds a Masters in Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University, showcasing her commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Rachael McLennan‘s appointment to the Menzies Foundation Board marks yet another significant milestone. As the Chief Executive Officer of People for Purpose, Rachael has dedicated her career to driving positive social change. Her extensive experience in the philanthropic sector includes previous roles as Chief Executive Officer for Australian Philanthropic Services and Director of the National Centre for Childhood Grief. Rachael’s commitment to community support is further evidenced by her advisory positions at organisations such as the Raise Foundation and Generation. She is also an Ambassador for the National Centre for Childhood Grief, highlighting her unwavering dedication to improving the lives of others. Rachael holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Impact from the Australian Graduate School of Management (University of NSW), underlining her commitment to excellence in the philanthropic realm.

Samuel Richards, Managing Director, Brighlight Impact and valuable member of the Menzies Foundation’s Audit and Investment Committee, brings a unique blend of financial acumen and philanthropic expertise to the Board. Notably, Samuel is also involved with the financial services council, where he represents the interests in key working groups, including Impact Investing & Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance, Philanthropic & Institutional Markets. His involvement in these critical areas reflects a passion for leveraging financial resources to create sustainable change. Samuel’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Law from Monash University, further complementing his expertise in the finance and legal domains.
