2015 Sir Ninian Stephen Menzies Scholarship in International Law
Patrick Wall is the holder of the 2015 Sir Ninian Stephen Menzies Scholarship in International Law, which he is using to undertake an LL.M. in International Law at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva.
Prior to moving to Geneva, Patrick worked for the Commonwealth Attorney-General's Department in Canberra, where he provided technical and capacity-building assistance to the Government of Papua New Guinea as it sought to bring its legislation into line with international legal standards for combating money laundering and the financing of terrorism. He has previously worked as the Associate to the Honourable Justice Perram of the Federal Court of Australia and for the Legal and Constitutional Affairs Committee of the Australian Senate.
Academically, Patrick has studied political science and law at the University of Sydney and a Masters of Diplomatic Studies at the Australian National University. His main academic interest is the intersection of international law and international politics. His work has been published in the Australian International Law Journal, the Melbourne Journal of International Law and the Australian Year Book of International Law.
