Teresa Brown2016 Sir Robert Menzies Memorial Research Scholarship in the Allied Health Sciences

Teresa Brown has been awarded the 2016 Sir Robert Menzies Memorial Research Scholarship in the Allied Health Sciences for her outstanding research that aims to reduce recovery times and shorten hospital visit duration for patients suffering from head and neck cancer. Teresa’s research – which is being conducted at the University of Queensland and Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital – is the first study of its kind in Australia that examines the benefit of providing early nutrition support to patients who are not already suffering from difficulty eating or drinking.

In addition to her excellent research, Teresa has delivered oral and poster presentations around the world and at the time of award has published or co published over 15 journal articles.
