How to Apply

Applications for the Sir Robert Menzies Memorial Scholarships open at varing times throughout the calendar year depending upon the specific scholarship concerned.  Please return to this page for further information

Please note that the NHMRC/RG Menzies Fellowship is awarded and administered by the NHMRC (see below).

Requirements for each scholarship vary, but generally the Menzies Foundation requires that candidates:

  • are Australian citizens or have permanent residency status at the time of application;
  • have academic transcripts showing successful completion and conferral of a relevant degree;
  • provide the names of four referees;
  • be available for interview by the selection panel;
  • make immediately available to the Foundation on request original or legally certified copies of supporting documents such as academic transcript(s), naturalisation certificate or proof of permanent residency.

The scholarship program is partially supported by funds from the Australian Government.

Allied Health Sciences

This research scholarship is open to graduates in any of the allied health sciences who are enrolled for a PhD in an Australian university and have completed the first stage of their doctoral program.

The scholarship closes on 30 June.

Engineering

This scholarship is for post-graduate study in a course related to engineering, tenable at a prestigious overseas university. 

The scholarship closes on 31 July.

International Law

This scholarship is for post-graduate study in international law, tenable at a prestigious overseas university.

The scholarship closes on 31 August.

Law

This scholarship is for post-graduate study in law, tenable at a prestigious UK university. 

The scholarship closes on 31 August.

Medicine - NHMRC/R G Menzies Fellowship

The NHMRC/R G Menzies Fellowship is awarded and administered by the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC). It is awarded to the highest ranked candidate in the Overseas Early Career Fellowships category who the Menzies Foundation judges to best represent qualities of leadership ability, both proven and potential, who will contribute to the life of their University or Institution, and who have demonstrated a commitment to and interest in service to others.
