Scholarship biography (at time of award)

Frances Williams graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Laws with First Class Honours and a Bachelor of Arts. Frances earned several awards including a University Medal. After graduation, Frances worked as an Articled Clerk with Clayton Utz.

Frances was awarded the Scholarship to complete a LLM at Jesus College, University of Cambridge.

A frontline strategist, Frances regularly appears on behalf of clients in the superior and appellate courts, as well as in various Commonwealth tribunals.

With more than 15 years’ experience in litigation and trial law, Frances knows all the ins-and-outs of commercial dispute resolution and has offered her sound and considered advice to a gamut of Australia’s major companies and organizations.

Frances was awarded the Sir Robert Menzies Memorial Scholarship in Law in 1996 to complete a Masters in Law at the University of Cambridge.
