Scholarship biography (at time of award)

Joel Fetter graduated from the University of Melbourne at the top of his class of 291 with a Bachelor of Laws with First Class Honours and a Bachelor of Arts with First Class Honours. He earned several awards including the Supreme Court Prize. After graduation, Joel was an articled clerk at Minter Ellison before becoming an Associate to the Chief Justice of the Federal Court of Australia.

Joel was awarded the Scholarship to complete a LLM at the London School of Economics.

Current Biography

Joel Fetter practises principally in employment and industrial law and administrative law.

Joel Fetter was awarded the Supreme Court prize at Melbourne Law School.

Before coming to the Bar he worked as a solicitor at Minter Ellison, as associate to Black CJ of the Federal Court of Australia, as head of the legal and policy unit at the ACTU, and as an ILO consultant.

Joel also teaches in the Masters program at the University of Melbourne.
