Scholarship biography (at time of award)

Matthew Tyler obtained a Bachelor of Economics (Honours) from Monash University where he was awarded the University Medal in 2012. He also holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) and a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) from the University of Melbourne.

In addition, Matthew has volunteered extensively including as an adviser to the Global Poverty Project, which aims to increase the number and effectiveness of people taking action to end extreme poverty.

Matthew was awarded the Scholarship to complete a Masters in Public Policy at the John F Kennedy School of Government where he will explore how innovative partnerships between the public and private sectors can overcome rising inequality in Australia.
