Joseph Holmes

2022 Menzies Emerging Leader

Hey there! I'm a student from South Australia passionate about leadership and improving the world we live in. Two of the projects I am most proud of being involved with are establishing the Duke of Edinburgh award at my school, to encourage others to get active and explore the world around us. The other is working with the National Schools Constitutional Convention to discuss national issues of significance with other young people around the country. I've been privileged enough to live in a remote Indigenous community, Nhulunbuy, and experience first-hand the amazing Yolngu culture that has survived for thousands of years. The Menzies Foundation has been incredibly generous in their support of the Emerging Leaders Program, and I am so fortunate to have been one of the lucky Magic Eleven selected to participate! Thanks again for the amazing opportunity, and I can't wait to work with the team in the future, to keep solving even more problems!
