Economic empowerment is leadership in action.
Indigenous women are building enterprises that weave cultural knowledge, community strength, and economic independence.
Existing support programs often fail Indigenous women — imposing Western business models, neglecting community contexts, and exacerbating trauma. Despite this, Indigenous women are demonstrating powerful leadership, creating businesses that sustain families, protect culture, and strengthen community resilience.
Why It Matters:
- Indigenous women’s entrepreneurship drives economic independence and social change.
- Relationship-based, Indigenous-led approaches restore agency and self-determination.
- Supporting these ventures strengthens communities and intergenerational wellbeing.
What We Do:
The Foundation partners with Indigenous-led organisations to:
- Establish scalable platforms for women’s entrepreneurship.
- Provide access to financial tools, networks, and cultural supports.
- Back Indigenous-designed models that integrate cultural wisdom with innovation.
